Jake's Resume Builder

Jake's Resume Builder is a browser-based editor for the Jake's resume template. Visitors can edit education, experience, projects and skills without writing LaTeX, preview a real LaTeX PDF and download PDF, Word, LaTeX source, ZIP or JSON files. The editor supports Letter and A4 paper, six fonts, section ordering and local browser saves. Editing and exports are free and do not require an account. Optional AI help can rewrite resume bullets or tailor content to a job description using account credits. The site includes examples and practical editing guides. It is an unofficial project and is not affiliated with Jake Gutierrez or Overleaf.

Users start with an example resume or import supported JSON or Jake-style LaTeX source, then replace the sample details with their own information. They can add and reorder entries, adjust spacing and review the PDF before downloading. A text-extraction check helps users inspect the text produced by the PDF; it does not promise acceptance by every applicant tracking system. Word exports can have layout differences from the LaTeX PDF.

The product is designed for students, graduates and job seekers who want to work with the familiar single-column resume layout. Examples include software engineering, data analysis and machine learning roles. Guides explain fonts, education sections, Overleaf workflows and template alternatives. Optional AI features use paid credit packs or a monthly plan, while the core resume editor and exports remain free. AI suggestions should be reviewed for factual accuracy before being used in an application.
